Action Alert:

Senate GOP Repeal Bill Finds Traction
In a move rejecting recent bipartisan efforts to stabilize the Affordable Care Act's (ACA) marketplaces, the Senate GOP is again moving on a partisan bill that would repeal integral provisions of the ACA and radically restructure Medicaid funding, eventually draining the program of billions of dollars.

Republican Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Dean Heller (R-Nev.) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) this week unveiled a proposal that maintains most, if not all, of the severe provisions that were housed in previous bills to repeal President Obama's landmark health care law. The proposal also is worse than prior bills in a number of ways. For example, states would receive zero federal funding if they wanted to continue providing Medicaid coverage to their Medicaid expansion enrollees after 2020. And it completely eliminates presumptive and express lane eligibility.

The measure has gained traction on Capitol Hill over the last 24 hours. This morning, Cassidy told a group of reporters "We're probably at 48-49 [votes] and talking to two or three more."

The GOP has until September 30 to pass a repeal with only Republican votes. We need to keep up the pressure and make sure that senators do not buckle under partisan political pressure to pass this harmful and mean-spirited bill. Here are some new resources from NHeLP:
