Take Action Now -- Tell Your Senators Rep. Tom Price is the Wrong Person to Lead HHS

The Senate is expected to vote late tonight or early Friday morning on the nomination of Rep. Tom Price to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). NHeLP announced its opposition to Price last November, and joined nearly 100 leading advocacy organizations calling upon the Senate to reject his nomination. Price, a Georgia tea party Republican, is a fierce opponent of the Affordable Care Act and has pushed to radically alter Medicaid and slash its funding. Despite being dogged by ethics issues, Republican senators last night voted unanimously to advance Price's nomination.

Please contact your senators and urge them to vote NO on Price. Call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121.

Here are some suggested twitter posts using hashtags, such as #PriceisWrong, #ProtectOurCare, #MedicaidWorks:
  • Our next HHS Secretary shouldn't threaten the health of Americans and violate ethics laws #PriceisWrong
  • Price will destroy Medicare/Medicaid, repeal the ACA, and has yet to be investigated for ethics violations ... hmmm #PriceisWrong
  • Tell your Senators: No vote on Price until after an ethics investigation #PriceisWrong
