Action Alert: Welcome your Members of Congress

Dear Copyright Advocates,

Washington, DC is bustling with new representatives who are charged with upholding the interest of your states and districts. We welcome today the 112th Congress - with 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives to be sworn in and 13 new U.S. Senators to take the oath of office.

Your elected officials are pledging to make decisions that support the health and well-being of your state. As a working artist and a contributor to your state's creative economy and culture, take a minute today to introduce yourself to your Members of Congress and tell him or her how copyright helps support you and your livelihood.

Follow these simple steps:

1. Find your Members of Congress.

To find and email your Senator: http://bit.ly/eTQIkS

To find and email your House Representative: http://bit.ly/gF0qlO

2. Tell them a little bit about yourself.

Tell them who you are, how you make a living, why the arts are important to your community,

and how the importance of copyright protection and enforcement affects your livelihood.

3. Tweet this:

Welcome to the new #Congress. Please support #copyright protection for #artists.

We welcome our elected officials to the 112th Congress who pledge to support the well-being of our states and districts. As part of a community of creators, it is important to me that Congress supports artists' rights through copyright protection. I encourage you to also tell them about the importance of copyright in artists' lives. Email your Senator: http://bit.ly/eTQIkS Email your House Representative: http://bit.ly/gF0qlO

5. Shoot me an email.  I'd love to know if you sent something to your Members of Congress. If so, shoot me an email.

Best,
