    William Burnham Woods was a United States Circuit Judge and an Associate Justice of       United the States Supreme Court as well as an Ohio politician and soldier in the Civil War.  

 
Despite what you may feel about the recent election, we hope you know that only 38% of people in DuPage voted for Donald Trump. Most of our neighbors are still sane and those who aren't, well, we have to give them a pass for now as we work with the others. MANY new messages come into our inbox and voicemail every day with people expressing the need to really dig in together now to push back on the negativity of these times with positive action. We hope YOU are one of those who understand that this is the truly the ONLY way to stave off the depression and cynicism that only benefits the dark side. (See the PS below for other actions you can get involved with right now).

We have a structured plan for defeating Rauner's ruinous agenda, powering up the county board and more and, mostly,  we have a positive, action-oriented team that we want you to be on. 

IF you are truly ready to make a commitment to taking your part in this exciting movement to set things back to order, reason and justice by precise, meaningful  and sustainable action, RSVP TODAY. 

WHEN: January 9th 7pm (check in at 6:30)
WHERE: Wheaton Community Center Auditorium
WHY: To activate a very strategic plan for prioritizing AND WINNING the most important races in DuPage and Illinois for 2017-2018 and be truly prepared for a Dem sweep in 2020.
WHO: ANYONE  committed to CREATING better government that serves all humans in our state in terms of economic opportunities, social justice, environment and all the things that make that promised pursuit of happiness possible.
HOW: Show up at 6:30pm with an open mind and a ready heart and a predetermined commitment to give your time, talent and or/treasure to this endeavor from now until the general of 2018.

Here are the first 10 to get you started!

1. Tweet or Facebook message a genuine compliment to three people right now.
2. Bring doughnuts (or a healthy treat, like cut-up fruit) to work.
3. While you're out, compliment a parent on how well-behaved their child is.
4. Don't write the angry internet comment you're thinking of writing.
5. When everyone around you is gossiping about someone, be the one to butt in with something nice.
6. Cook a meal or do a load of laundry for a friend who just had a baby or is going through a difficult time.
7. If you walk by a car with an expired parking meter, put a quarter in it.
8. Put your phone away.
9. Hang out with the person who just moved to town.
10. Offer a homeless person your leftovers bag from the restaurant.
Thank you for doing your part to help grow our message of caring for all and, as the Salvation Army says, "Doing the Most Good". This, of course, can be read two ways but the bottom line is that we at DPDC believe in DOING THE MOST GOOD and DOING GOOD FOR THE MOST. And, not surprisingly, most Americans understand that a country as great as ours can be and will be MUST embrace  such an generous and encompassing philosophy. Glad to have you on the team.
