Technology Ventures Summit to be Held in Tulsa


Oklahoma's third Technology Ventures Summit will showcase the state's top commercial technology and offer training to both angel investors and entrepreneurs.

The two-day networking event, scheduled for February 15-16, 2011 at the Doubletree Hotel Tulsa-Downtown, will feature concurrent one-day workshops providing practical advice and training for entrepreneurs and angel investors. The second day will include presentations by a dozen local technology ventures to venture capital and angel investors.

 Ada's Economic Recovery


The City of Ada issued building permits for construction projects valued at over $26.8 million in 2010. This represents a 91.18% increase over 2009 total.


The 2010 total is well below the record set in 2008 of over $50.1 million, but indicates that the area economy is continuing to exit the recession quickly.


The January Sales Tax Deposit for the City of Ada was up 15.6% over 2010. This equates to an additional $4.2 million in retail sales. This deposit represents early holiday sales from November and represents a growing trend of positive retail sales growth.


Pontotoc County remains among the lowest unemployment rates in Oklahoma. Garfield County is the only county in the state with a larger labor force and lower unemployment rate than Pontotoc County.
