Timeless Style
Several years ago, I looked at a family picture taken at my sister's wedding in 1979.  In typical 70's style, the men were wearing light grey tuxedos with enormous black lapels and large boutonnieres. Everyone thought they looked great!  Everyone except my Zaida. He and my father wisely chose classic black - a decision that withstood the test of time.

Many question why the Torah was given in a desolate wilderness. Rav Hirsch explains that the location underscores the timeless dimension of Torah. Torah is not a product of a certain age nor is it rooted in a specific culture. It transcends any particular civilization.

Many things seem like great ideas at the moment. The challenge of life is to be able to impact your environment - not the reverse. There is no more precious commodity than timeless wisdom.
