It's been a busy summer for the Office of Alumni Relations and Adelphi University!

Since the last   Adelphi Alumni Newsletter , we've launched New York City and Washington, D.C.,   alumni chapters   and are working with Panthers in Suffolk County, New York, and in Boston and Philadelphia to grow those alumni chapters too! We continue to build stronger alumni communities for multicultural alumni (MCC),   veterans , and LGBTQ+ and allies through the creation of interest-based  affinity groups . These regional chapters and affinity groups allow graduates to learn about ways to get involved and stay connected.

Over the past academic year, we've seen firsthand the incredible impact our alumni are having at Adelphi. Here are some examples:

  • 462 alumni registered for Alumnifire, the Adelphi alumni and student virtual networking and mentoring site.
  • Another 126 alumni volunteered to assist the Center for Career and Professional Development with internship and job placements and offer classroom career presentations.
  • 31 alumni volunteered to serve as Adelphi Ambassadors at college fairs or our Open Houses and Accepted Student Days.
  • 22 alumni wrote 8,272 letters to all admitted first-year students to congratulate them on their acceptance.
  • 17 student referrals for admissions were made by alumni and friends.

If you haven’t connected with us recently, come out and show your Panther pride! Join us for the  30th Annual Golf Classic , honoring legendary coach  Ronald C. Davies '59 , on September 24 or the   Red Bulls MLS match   on September 30 with alumnus and former women's soccer head coach Chris Armas '94, who was promoted to lead the New York Red Bulls in July. Visit our alumni page to find even more events and mark your calendars!

I would also like to share the exciting news that Chief of Staff Maggie Yoon Grafer '98, M.A. '08 , has been promoted to associate vice president of external relations. In her expanded role, she will oversee both alumni relations and special events. She is a long-tenured member of the Adelphi community and we are pleased to be working with her. Please join me in congratulating Maggie on a well-deserved appointment.

Lastly, if you haven't seen it already, spend a few minutes with the latest issue of   Adelphi University Magazine , where you'll read about how our students, alumni and faculty are making a difference around the world.

Warmly,
