Administrative Appointments

Boise, ID --04/26/2018 -- Boise School District is pleased to announce the following administrative appointments effective July 1, 2018.

Tammy Burks - Assistant Principal, Frank Church High School

Tammy Burks has successfully served students in the Boise School District since 2000. During that time she has worked as an elementary school principal (Cynthia Mann 2013 to present), junior high school assistant principal (South Jr. High, 2011 to 2013), science teacher (Frank Church High School 2010-11, and Fairmont Jr. High, 2000-09), and as an elementary school principal intern (Horizon and Trail Wind elementary schools, 2009-10). She has served as an AVID Science Trainer and Program Presenter in the Boise School District. AVID is a college and career preparation program for students who are performing in the academic middle.

Mrs. Burks has always put students first, serving her students with a commitment and dedication to do what is right for each and every child. Mrs. Burks is a highly effective educator who continually strives to offer her services not only to students but also to fellow educators as she helps them improve their instructional strategies.

Mrs. Burks earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Environmental Health from Boise State University in 1998, a Master Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Boise State University in 2005, and a Master of Educational Leadership from Boise State University in 2009.

Juli Bronner - Principal, Monroe Elementary School

Juli Bronner has served students in the Boise School District for more than 24 years. During that time she has worked as a junior high school English teacher (East Junior High School 1994-2007), administrative intern (Taft and Shadow Hills elementary schools (2007-09) and principal (Roosevelt Elementary School - 2009 to present)

Mrs. Bronner has earned the respect and admiration of staff and administrators in the schools in which she has served. She is a passionate school administrator who believes in building strong school community relations by emphasizing a positve school culture that allows for student and staff success. She is a collaborative leader with a reputation as a strong instructional leader. She is committed to the District's Vision of preparing students for success in college, career and in citizenship.

Mrs. Bronner earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary English from the University of Idaho and a Master Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho.

Rebecca Severson - Principal, Roosevelt Elementary School

Rebecca Severson has served children in the Boise School District as an educator since 2011. During that time she has worked as a long-term substitute teacher (2011-12 - 5th grade, Riverside Elementary), kindergarten teacher (2012-15 - Whitney Elementary), first grade teacher (2015-17 - Whitney Elementary), principal (2016 & 2017 - Summer School), and elementary assistant principal (Horizon Elementary 2017 to present).

Mrs. Severson is a collaborative educator who works well with parents, students and fellow staff members. She has a strong record of establishing collaborative school goals and then supporting staff and students in their efforts to achieve those goals. She is also a strong advocate for the use of technology in the classroom to enhance learning opportunities for students. Mrs. Severson embraces change that improves education for students. She readily utilizes District resources for curriculum and support to ensure that each and every student has an opportunity to succeed. She is dedicated to the District's Vision of preparing students for success in college, career and in life.

Mrs. Severson earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Health Sciences from Brigham Young University, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Boise State University and a Master's Degree in Education Leadership from the University of Idaho.

Jeff Farley - Principal, Cynthia Mann Elementary School

Mr. Farley has successfully worked in public education in the Boise School District since 1993. During that time, he has served as a math teacher (Capital High, 1993-2002), intern elementary school principal (Trail Wind, 2002-04), assistant principal (Hillside Junior High, 2004-07), principal (Hillside Junior High, 2007 - 2011) and elementary school principal (Monroe, 2011 to present).

Mr. Farley is committed and dedicated to educational excellence and believes strongly that each and every child be provided opportunities and support to achieve success both in and out of the classroom. His outgoing and approachable management style helps establish a positve school culture where students and staff succeed by working together. Mr. Farley is a strong instructional leader who is committed to collaborating with staff to better serve students and building strong relationships with families to support student success.

Mr. Farley earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary Education from Boise State University and a Master Degree in Educational Administration from the University of Idaho.
