AHC Human Resources Staff Change

We bid Selina farewell this past week as she and her family prepare to move out of state next month to Texas. Selina was a consistent presence for us at the front office in Lakewood over the past 6 years. Thankfully, JoAnne, has experience in HR so your questions regarding HR and paperwork can now be directed to her. We are sad to see Selina go, but are grateful that JoAnne is here to make this a seamless transition for all of YOU!

Caregiver Profile:
Sandra W.
16 years years with AHC

What do you like about being a caregiver?
"I love my job! I enjoy helping others and making their day. I'm very blessed. I'm done this work off and on since I was 18. I tried doing a few other things, but my heart called me back to it. So I got certified and have been doing it ever since."

Any advice you would give to a newer caregiver?
"Have patience! Some clients are hard. Be flexible and learn to roll with people where they are."

What do you like about working here at Advanced?
AHC backs me 110%. I appreciate that they are flexible with me so that I can be flexible with them. I would have left long ago if I didn't love it!

Thank you for your years of service, Sandra!
Here are a few photos we wanted to share from the great class on Depression in the Elderly that Judy, RN put on in Olympia and Tacoma last month for all of you! Thanks to those of you who were able to make it.

Could you use an extra $200?
That is how much we PAY YOU for every person you refer to us as an employee. Once they are hired and work the 160 hour requirement, we write you a check! Send us a good caregiver or nurse that you know today.
Thank you Alanna H. for referring Anastasia O.!
Caregiver Wisdom: In Your Own Words

If you have wisdom or tips to share here, please submit them to Lynessa via email or phone and you may see your wisdom here next time!

"Be patient, don’t hover too much. Allow them to do as much as they can."

"When doing personal care, explain what you are doing."

" Put yourself in the client's shoes as we all will be there one day."
