2012 Alta Level 1 WoR open for registration

MaleSurvivor is excited to announce registration for our Weekend of Recovery at Alta Lodge this September is now open! Hope and Healing for male survivors of sexual abuse is possible!

This will be our 10th visit to Alta Lodge, which tells you how much we love the facility, its extremely supportive and nurturing staff, and the gorgeous surroundings. Alta Lodge is located at 8,600 feet (2,700 meters) at the base of the Alta Ski Area in Utah's Wasatch Mountains. Alta Lodge, nestled in a quaint alpine setting at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, offers spectacular mountain views. During September, the cottonwood and aspen trees are usually in the prime of their fall yellow plumage, adding to the beauty of this setting. Alta Lodge is part of a rare tradition of country inns where the attentiveness and warmth of family hoteliers is combined with the pleasures of excellent dining and comfortable surroundings. The atmosphere of the Alta Lodge is relaxed, intimate and informal. There will be space for up to 28 men on this weekend.

MaleSurvior(www.MaleSurvivor.org), the preeminent resource for male victims of sexual abuse, is committed to preventing, healing, and eliminating all forms of sexual victimization of boys and men through support, treatment, research, education, advocacy, and activism.

Current research suggests that more than 1 in 6 males have been the victims of sexual abuse at some point in their lives. The long-term effects of sexual abuse include depression, anxiety, inability to trust others and form healthy relationships, as well as putting victims as far higher risk of substance abuse and suicide. But with support, healing is possible for every survivor.

Founded in 1994, the organization has reached over 50 million individuals whose lives have been forever impacted by sexual abuse.
