Our preaching series on Worship continues this weekend
We hope you will make plans to join us as we continue exploring why God asks us to gather together in worship and how being tuned in to worship enhances our lives. Our leaders will share sermons inspired to help us prepare our hearts for a new experience of worship for Christmas and the new year. In the meantime, we suggest this daily prayer for you:

O God, source of eternal light, shine forth your unending day on us who watch for you; that our lips may praise you, our hearts bless you, and our lives glorify you, through our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen. (adapted from The New Zealand Prayer Book, p. 68) .
Annual Meeting to elect new Vestry this Sunday, December 3
Please make plans to attend our new Annual Meeting on December 3 at 10:00 AM, where, as a congregation, we will elect new members to the vestry to serve 2018-2021. Again this year we offer a slate of candidates to serve as new members on the vestry:
  • Garway Bright
  • Tracy Muckey
  • Roge Smith
  • Tom Tyler
Rehearsals begin tonight for the Christmas Eve Choir
All are invited to join the celebration on Christmas Eve – from beginners to experienced singers. The Christmas Eve Choir will rehearse from 7:15-8:15 PM on three Thursdays: November 30, December 7 and December 14. Our dress rehearsal will be on Thursday, December 21 and we will sing together at the 4:00 PM service on Sunday December 24. This is a great opportunity to lift your voice in praise and offer your gifts without a long-term commitment. See you tonight in the music room!
Giving Hope, one student at a time
Students of the Hope & Resurrection Secondary School march through Atiaba, South Sudan singing "We are glad to see you today."
First Sunday on December 3
Join us for a very special event for all ages -- a virtual tour of South Sudan's Hope and Resurrection School . Fresh from their visit to South Sudan, Suzanne Hicks and Lee Muckey will share with you what’s happening on the ground in this war-torn area and how CCE’s ministry of prayer and financial support is giving people hope.

Our Bible Study tract will be led by Dr. Michael Compton as he teaches on 1 Thessalonians in Room 202 of the Education Building from 5-6 PM.

Register in Realm > Events > or by calling the church office at 804-364-0394.
Dedicate a Christmas Flower
This year we will have a glorious floral display, accented with poinsettias to fill our worship space with Christmas joy. Your dedication(s) will be included in the worship bulletin on Christmas Eve so that our community can share in honoring your loved ones on this holy day. Forms can be found in the milling area.

Early Applications for Preschool
Registration for the 2018-19 preschool year is right around the corner! We officially open registration to church members on Thursday, January 4. However, we are currently accepting early applications if members wish to register early. Early registration does not guarantee church families admission, but it does give them first priority when we officially open registration on January 4. Interested? Please contact Cheri Erk .
