Lifetouch Photography sessions have been changed on Wednesday, March 7, to begin at 9:00a.m.  Hopefully this will accomodate those who need to be early birds!  The start time on Tuesday, March 6, remains at 12 NOON due to the photographers having to travel from Montgomery and having time to set up.

If anyone needs a late session, please let us know.  Late session would have to be on Tuesday.   Sign up sheets will be available in the Sanctuary again this Sunday and everyone is encouraged to participate.  Remember, you may invite family members, and even your pets for the photos.

The picture for the Directory is at no charge and additional photos will be available for you to purchase at a deeply discounted price.

What is a LABYRINTH?
Why might I want to 'walk' a LABYRINTH?
Mark your calendar for March 21, 2018 at the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Lillian.     As part of the 2018 Lenten program, a 30+ ft  floor model of the famous stone labyrinth built around 1200AD at Notre Dame de Chartres in Chartres, France  will be set up in the church.  This particular labyrinth design signified the pilgrimage to Jerusalem during this period. There is no charge for this event and we hope the community will enjoy it.
Our guest speaker will be Dr. Marie-Therese Champagne , Associate Professor of History at the University of West Florida in Pensacola.  On March 21st she will teach about the spiritual and secular history of these structures and how they were/are used as spiritual, meditative, or relaxation tools.

You may choose to walk the labyrinth after the lecture or during the following two days of planned display..

Dr. Champagne teaches European history in the areas of ancient Rome, the Middle Ages, the Vikings, Women in the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and the Reformation.  She is a native of New Orleans and completed her doctorate at LSU in 2005.

Dr. Champagne has presented this same labyrinth event at UWF four times since joining faculty in 2008.

A bit of humor from Rachael

Al illiterate father went camping with his highly educated son.  As they walk through the wilderness the son boasts about how being educated makes him appreciate nature, evolution, etc, to which the father just shrugs and continues along.
When they reach their camping site, they set up their tent and fell asleep.  Unable to sleep properly, the father wakes up his son after a few hours.
"Son, what do you see when you look up at the sky?"
I see millions, perhaps billions of stars.
"And what does that mean, son?"
"Well, many of them are probably galaxies that can house a millions earth-like planets.  In the grand scheme of things it just makes us in the tiny moat of dust called earth seem insignifi...."

The father just then hit the son over the head with a pan, "Idiot, it means someone stole our tent!"
