In December 2017, Governor Scott Walker signed a change to
State Statute 452.136
Advertising without agency agreement prohibited. A firm and any licensees associated with the firm may not advertise a property unless one of the following applies:
(a) The firm is the listing firm for the property.
(b) The firm or a licensee associated with the firm has obtained consent to advertise the property from the listing firm of the property.

The Greater Milwaukee Association of REALTORS® Youth Foundation will award 7 $1,000 scholarships to children or grandchildren of GMAR members during 2018.
Members must have maintained their relationship with the GMAR continuously for at least three (3) years. Deadline is April 1st.

MONTHLY MORTGAGE CONCEPTS FOR REAL ESTATE AGENTS CLASSES
New for 2018! Cherry Creek Mortgage is partnering with the GMAR to offer monthly Mortgage Concepts for Real Estate Agents classes. Each individual class will be offered quarterly and they are for both new and experienced agents. The 3 topics will cover appraisals, offers, and general underwriting/loan process.
The first class is Thursday, January 18th at 10:00am at the GMAR office and will feature Scott Hamling, AVP of appraisals at Cherry Creek. We will cover how best to set up the appraisal for the most accurate value and how to avoid any unnecessary issues.
Scott's classes have filled up quickly in the past, so please don't delay!

It is time to reflect and look forward to next year! Time to discuss what worked well and what did not in 2017. Members can discuss trends that are emerging with buyers and sellers. We will also talk about new ideas for next year and technology we should all be using.
As you know, our group is comprised of agents from every real estate company.
No one will ever be asked to speak or even introduce themselves
, so you can come and just listen!
We usually have about 40 agents attending so please respond to this email to let me know if you think you'll be at the meeting. We'll have donuts and coffee. If anyone wants to volunteer to bring donuts that would be great!
