Advocacy Action Alert: SB1216 & SB1217

 

 

The State Senate Finance Committee is set to vote on two bills this Wednesday at 9 a.m. that would strengthen nonprofits like St. Mary's Food Bank's ability to serve the working poor in Arizona.

Senate Bill 1216 will double the amount Arizona taxpayers could contribute to the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit for the working poor from their current levels of $200 for individuals and $400 for joint filers, to $400 and $800 respectively.

Senate Bill 1217 will extend the deadline Arizona taxpayers can claim the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit for the working poor to April 15th Tax Day from December 31st.
