Save the Date for the 2017 Policy Conference at Salt Fork: September 6-8
For 37 years, the Ohio Chamber of Commerce has been hosting public affairs professionals and members of Ohio's General Assembly at Salt Fork State Park to discuss issues that impact our state. Our opening speaker is Ohioan, former Marine and New York Times Bestselling author J.D. Vance. Mr. Vance will be speaking Wednesday evening after our opening dinner.

We are currently finalizing the program speakers, but wanted to make sure you registered for this one-of-a-kind political networking event as space in the park's lodge and cabins is limited. A tentative agenda and registration price are available on our website.
Chamber Action Alliance Call To Action: 2017 Free Enterprise Index
During the first portion of the 132nd General Assembly, 20 bills were sent from the legislature to Gov. John Kasich’s desk for approval. During this period, four votes were determined to be “key votes” (3 House, 1 Senate) by the Ohio Chamber’s government affairs team that would count towards legislators’ Free Enterprise Index scores. As Ohio’s leading business advocates, it is important that we make sure lawmakers are held accountable for their decisions and how they impact businesses. We believe this index provides Ohio Chamber members with the necessary information to identify pro-business legislators, gauge legislator performance and highlight issues that impact Ohio’s business climate.

For the local chambers of commerce that participate in the Chamber Action Alliance, we ask that you reach out to your legislators on social media highlighting their Free Enterprise Index score and encourage them to work with the Ohio Chamber to continue improving Ohio’s business climate.

Donate to OCCPAC Today
While 2017 is considered an off-election year, OCCPAC is still replenishing our war chest from an expensive election cycle last year where our endorsed candidates were 76-0 in their respective contests. Any amount you can give goes a long way in supporting candidates that champion free enterprise and economic development for the benefit of all Ohioans.

Letting Your Voice Be Heard - Update
Toward the end of June, we sent out our own Calls to Action for three issues pertaining to the state budget that would negatively impact businesses. Thank you to everyone that participated in contacting your elected officials. Because of your willingness to get involved, the provision creating a new civil penalty for violations of the law allowing individuals to store firearms in their privately-owned vehicles on employer property was modified. It is now much less troublesome.

We appreciate the work you did on getting the business voice heard. While the 132nd General Assembly is just a quarter completed, we will continue to need your help in protecting Ohio’s business climate.
Sincerely,

Rich Thompson
