I want to welcome you to the first installment of the
Advocacy & Action e-newsletter. This monthly publication will serve as your source for advocacy and political engagement information from the Ohio Chamber's Department of Political Programs. This content will be focused towards members of the Ohio Chamber Public Affairs Committee, Chamber Action Alliance executives and OCCPAC donors.
The elections in 2016 proved to be some of the most unpredictable in recent years, but now we are turning our attention to 2017, the new 115th Congress and the 132nd General Assembly here in Ohio. It is important that we not only stay in the loop during election years and vote, but that we also stay engaged in the political process all year round.
While our Government Affairs team works to ensure our voice is heard at the Ohio Statehouse, you can help these efforts by becoming educated voters and citizens. Here are three steps to get started:
Learn the Issues
Understand how civic issues affect your organization. Visit our
page to learn more about our policy issues.
Spread the Word
Grassroots advocacy only works if you spread the word. Talk with your colleagues, friends, and family about participating in the process. Read our
All for Ohio
blog, particularly this entry on our
Public Policy Priorities
We hope that by providing this information, you will take time to learn about the issues, use the tools provided to take action, and spread the word by encouraging others to become active. Political participation is the cornerstone of American democracy. Your participation matters.
If we can ever be of assistance providing advocacy and election related content and/or speakers for your upcoming events, please contact me at
