Affordable long-term care

Obamacare's attempt to create a long-term care program is officially dead. Congress recently threw it off the fiscal cliff. Without this program, here are three realistic options.

Option 1: Be ready to pay
Option 2: Rely on family caregivers
Option 3: Avoid headaches and hardship by leveraging your ASA member benefits

Read on to learn more...

Option 1: Be Ready to Pay

Have a boat load of money ready to spend.
  • Nursing home care averages $70,000 per year.
  • Assisted living facilities costs about $36,000 per year.
  • In-home health services cost an average of $29 per hour.

Option 2: Rely on Family Caregivers

Prepare to add to the tens of millions of Americans who serve as unpaid family caregivers, most of whom not only provide care to a loved one, but continue to work full time.

Option 3: Let ASA's Experts Find Your Ideal LTC Plan

Avoid the significant financial and physical side effects of Options 1 and 2 and let our licensed insurance experts find an LTC insurance plan that fits your needs and your budget.

Exercise Your Freedom to Choose

ASA offers a variety of long-term care (LTC) plans and providers from which to choose, giving you the coverage you need at the most affordable rates available.

Rate Example:

For a 60-year-old woman in good health, a basic LTC policy can be less than $150 per month. *That's a significant savings compared to the cost of nursing home care, assisted living, and in-home health services.

Plan Options Include:

  • Concierge health care option
  • Customized care plans
  • Shared benefits for couples
  • Inflation protection options
  • Plans with tax advantages

When to Buy LTC Coverage

The best time to buy an LTC policy is BEFORE you need it. It must be purchased as a stand-alone policy - it is not covered by Medicare, standard health insurance or medical supplement policies.
