Bayfield, WI - As the anniversary of her summit day on Mount Everest approaches, Lori Schneider, the first person with MS (multiple sclerosis) to climb the highest peak on each continent, is planning a very different kind of climb.

When she summited Everest in May 2009 carrying the banner of the first World MS Day, a snowstorm raged at the top of the 29,035 foot peak. Crampons, hi-tech clothing and oxygen tanks helped her get to the top.

On May 25, World MS Day 2011, Schneider will be scaling 1665 steps to the top of the Eiffel Tower to mark World MS Day and to train for a climb of Kilimanjaro later this summer. The July expedition to Kilimanjaro will include 15 people with MS or Parkinson's disease, along with companion climbers and medical personnel. Schneider will also be a featured speaker in Paris, commemorating World MS Day.

Since her summit of Everest and the completion of the Seven Summits, Schneider has been speaking to audiences around the world about MS, mountain climbing, and moving beyond perceived limitations. She has addressed research scientists, corporate audiences, schools, and thousands of people with MS.

Mountain climbing and adventure helped Schneider come to terms with her MS diagnosis 10 years ago, and she is dedicated to helping others realize that they can dream and make their dreams come true. "I want to help people move beyond their limitations and the labels that prevent them from living their dreams," Schneider says.

Schneider's company, Empowerment Through Adventure, offers adventure programs, including the Kilimanjaro climb. Schneider will also complete the Apple Blossom Run in Bayfield, WI on May 21 as a training exercise. For more information, visit www.EmpowermentThroughAdventure.com.
