REMINDER:  Still Time to Participate in 4R Nutrient Stewardship Program Survey
ACI, The Fertilizer Institute, and The Ohio State University are conducting a survey focusing on understanding and responding to experiences members may have had with nutrient management BMPs, and the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Certification Program and communication process. You do NOT have to be certified under the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Certification Program to participate, and all perspectives are welcome!  To thank you for your participation in the survey, you will be entered in a raffle to win one of two iPads. The survey should take approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete.

Indiana Grain Indemnity Board Meets
Mike Silver and Ron Reichart represented ACI members at the Indiana Grain Indemnity Corporation board meeting on Friday, September 8. The board voted to approve extended claims from the Cline Grain failure, as required by HEA 1237. They also received an overview of the Indiana Grain Buyer and Warehouse Licensing Agency audit process.  


ACI Supports the Regulatory Accountability Act of 2017
Thirteen co-signers from across the State of Indiana, including ACI sent a letter to Senator Donnelly and his staff urging his support of the S. 951, the Regulatory Accountability Act of 2017.  ACI believes that regulations need to be narrowly tailored, supported by strong and credible data and evidence, and impose the lowest possible burden while still implementing Congressional intent.  Click HERE to read the letter for full details.
The Indiana General Assembly's Interim Study Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources Meets
This Interim Study Committee met on August 29, 2017.  Senator Sue Glick chairs the committee and Rep. Don Lehe serves as co-chair.   The notes from the committee can be found by clicking HERE.  The ACI Government Affairs team is monitoring the committee and staying engaged on the issues.  You can follow the committee on this site.

Helena Chemical Company Continental Facility Certified in 
4R Nutrient Stewardship
The 4R Nutrient Stewardship Certification Program has announced that ACI member, Helena Chemical Company Continental facility has been added to its growing list of nutrient service providers to achieve certified status. The voluntary program, now in its fourth year, is a concentrated effort by the agriculture industry to significantly reduce and prevent applied nutrients from running off fields, which has contributed to water quality issues in Lake Erie and other waterways across Ohio.  Click HERE to review the full release. AFIA Offers Answers to Frequently Asked FSMA Questions
The American Feed Industry Association has been working with members regarding frequently asked questions in preparation for Federal Safety Modernization Act issues.  Click HERE for a thorough look into these important issues.
