Hernan Picco, Framing Department Fitting Specialist, joined our team 17 years ago. He enjoys the daily challenges presented by frame building and assembly. Here's a behind the scenes look at Hernan's typical day.

What makes Smart Shades so smart?
Hunter Douglas Smart Shades are ideal for hard to reach and inconvenient places. They can make life easier for aging parents and those with disabilities. They're time-savers for busy families too.

As Iris Apfel says in this 30 second TV spot, "natural light can set a mood, create drama, pull together and transform your living space . With the Hunter Douglas PowerView® Motorization system, you can schedule your shades to automatically adjust throughout the day to create the perfect lighting effects ."

Visit our McLean showroom to see PowerView motorized window treatments in action.
Frame your vacation memories
Susan W. brought us another of her many treasures for custom framing. Here's the story behind this fun signed and numbered Allie High print.

“It was a vacation purchase at a gallery in Alaska. We have several native art pieces from Alaska, and the bears were unique in their shape and subject. I had in mind that the circle mats would make the mama and baby bears pop, and Meri confirmed my initial reaction. She also suggested the frame, with subtle rust-colored highlights that picked up the color of the mat and the bears perfectly. I always know I will receive expert advice when I come to Color Wheel!”

We used a Larson-Juhl frame, Artique mat, and Tru Vue Conservation Clear Glass.

Bring your vacation memories to our McLean showroom for custom framing!

Learn About Favorite Color Contest

Vardo is named for a traditional horse-drawn gypsy or Romany wagon. A similar color was used in the intricate patterning of these vehicles (usually over red), seen as an important cultural high point in mid-19th century decorating.

An incredibly vibrant yet versatile color, Vardo looks elegant when combined with the lighter Pavilion Gray and especially atmospheric with the darker Down Pipe.

The greatest compliment our customers can give is the referral of friends, family, and colleagues. Thank you for your trust!
