SAVE ALTA BATES COMMUNITY FORUM TOMORROW
Please join Mayor Peggy McQuaid and Vice Mayor Rochelle Nason at the Save Alta Bates Hospital Community Forum on February 3rd, 2018 from 11:00-1:00pm- at the Ed Roberts Campus at 3075 Adeline St in Berkeley. This venue is in the Ashby BART station.

This free and public event is crucial to saving the Alta Bates hospital in Berkeley for the surrounding communities, including Albany, that depend on its services. It will be hosted by the California Nurses Association, the Berkeley Mayor’s Office and East Bay Mayors, and numerous local community organizations.

LIMEBIKES ARE HERE!
LimeBike, which is already operating in nearby El Cerrito, Alameda, and South San Francisco, have brought 100 bicycles to local streets for a six-month pilot program.

The bicycles will provide residents, businesses, and visitors with an affordable, reliable, and sustainable option for traveling throughout Albany.

Join us at noon February 14th on the Ohlone Greenway, across from the Senior Center, to officially welcome LimeBike to Albany!

Chinese New Year Celebration

For more than 15 years the Albany Recreation Department has celebrated Chinese New Year at the Community Center. Students from Cornell and Ocean View Elementary and Sun Wei Chinese After School will present cultural Chinese song and dance as well as the 12 Zodiac story. dance with dragons and leap with lions as we welcome the Year of the Dog…Albany-style.

This is a free event for children under 12.
DISCUSS DOG PARKS IN ALBANY WITH PARKS & REC
The Parks & Recreation Commission will be discussing the possibility of building an official Dog Park in Albany. Attend the meeting on Thursday, Feb 8th and give your input, or email your comments to:

DRAW, PAINT, & SCULPT WITH PAQUERETTE CLARK
Let your kids explore their creativity with clay. They can make unique sculptures, mugs, and tiles and discover the magic of seeing painted pieces come to life as they emerge from the kiln.  Students learn fun techniques in drawing, painting, and mixed media. Classes start with warm up exercises, leading into more developed artworks.

The City wishes to strongly reiterate our commitment to our status as a Sanctuary City, as adopted by City Council Resolution No. 2017-09.

ALBANY CIVICS ACADEMY - REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Registration for the 2018 Albany Civics Academy is now open.

Albany Civics Academy participants learn about how decisions are made, where funds are allocated and have an enhanced understanding of the organizational structure and operations of the various city departments that impact the quality of life in the City of Albany.


Application deadline is March 22, 2018.
