Greetings!

I just want to make sure you received these important updates.

Below is our statement regarding the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to hear the case on Trump's egregious Muslim ban. We are committed to mobilizing in response.  Please stay tuned and get ready to act.

And just today, together with the Council on American-Islamic Relations – Connecticut (CAIR-CT), we filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration for withholding critical information concerning its continued profiling of Muslims and other marginalized groups with respect to visa processing and immigration enforcement – a practice we are calling the “Backdoor Muslim Ban."

This is the latest battle in the long fight ahead. I am so grateful for all the ways you have thrown down and amplified our members' voices. As our members, advocates, and lawyers work double time organizing, we need your continued support.

If you aren't a monthly sustainer yet, please become one now and help ensure we are strong for the days and months ahead.

Help us spread the word as well. Share our Facebook post !

In solidarity,

-- Deb Axt, Co-Executive Director

Make the Road New York Responds to Supreme Court Accepting Muslim Ban Case

NEW YORK (June 26th, 2017) — In response to the news that the Supreme Court will hear the IRAP v. US case regarding President Trump’s Muslim Ban, Make the Road New York Co-Executive Director Javier H. Valdéissued the followed statement on behalf of the organization’s 20,000 members:

“President Trump remains fixated on discriminating against and vilifying Muslims and refugees and betraying core American values of inclusiveness and fair treatment. Given that all the federal courts that have heard these cases have ruled against these bans, we strongly disagree with the Supreme Court’s decision today to take up this case and allow portions of this discriminatory policy to move forward. That said, we will continue to stand up against the Trump administration’s blatant attempts to discriminate against Muslims and refugees, and our members stand ready to act in solidarity—at the airports, at the courthouses, and in the streets. We remain confident that our side will again prevail, as we have done in courts around the country, when the case is heard by the Supreme Court.”
