Advent Angels
Toys for ECS Headstart

Our annual holiday toy drive to benefit low-income families served by ECS's Head Start programs begins Sunday, November 12.

We are the only church in the Diocese that supports ECS Head Start families with Christmas gifts.

Look for the Angels on the Hinde Hall porch. Take a card for a girl or boy, ages 3, 4, or 5  from the Angels. Buy a gift for that child and return it unwrapped to Hinde Hall by or on December 3.
Let your light shine this holiday season by taking a card -- or two, or three! -- and supplying some Christmas joy for a preschool-aged boy or girl
.
CCDS is hosting a book fair in Hinde Hall November 12 -- you can get your shopping done the same day by buying a gift at the book fair.

Thrift Shop Christmas Boutique
Monday, November 23
We know it seems a little bit early to talk about Christmas, but you won't want to miss the kick-off event of the season. Christ Church Thrift Shop will hold its annual Christmas Boutique Monday, November 23 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
It's a not-to-be-missed shopping event for all the best holiday bargains as the store is transformed into a holiday wonderland by our Thrift Shop volunteers. The store will be closed on Friday and Saturday, November 18 and 19 in preparation for the boutique and on Thanksgiving weekend.

St. John's Illuminated Bible Prints
Exhibit Oct.1-Nov 5
The St. John's Bible is the first completely handwritten and illuminated Bible commissioned by a Benedictine Abbey since the invention of the printing press. It was commissioned by St. John's Abbey, a Benedictine monastery, in 1998 and completed in 2011. The creators of the Bible used a mixture of techniques used in the creation of ancient illuminated manuscripts. A free exhibit of prints from the bible is being held at First United Methodist Church of San Diego, 2111 Camino del Rio South. The exhibit is open October 1 through November 5:  Fridays, 1:00-5:00 p.m., Saturdays, 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. and Sundays, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
