At All Saints' Church we gather to know
Jesus Christ and make Him known.

Where did this man get
all of this?  (Mark 6:2)

In this week's Gospel reading, Jesus returns to his hometown of Nazareth after a wildly successful ministry debut.  In the weeks preceding his return, he has developed a widespread reputation for his wisdom and authority.  He has proclaimed God's kingdom with provocative parables.  He has earned the trust of twelve loyal disciples.  He has exorcised demons, healed the sick, calmed a storm, and raised a little daughter from the dead.  He has become, in other words, the dream returnee. The hometown boy made good.

Or so we would think, if St. Mark didn't so quickly disabuse us.  In the reading from Mark, Jesus enters the synagogue of his boyhood, and begins to teach. At first, things go very well; Jesus is received with astonishment and curiosity: "Where did this man get all this? What is this wisdom that has been given to him?  What deeds of power are being done by his hands!"

Join us this Sunday as we wonder together about what is most important about this story, and what part might be about us.

Volunteers needed for Bristol Lodge THIS Sunday - July 8

It is the second Sunday of the month, so it is our turn to prepare and serve the meal for the Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen. Volunteers should report to the kitchen after the 9:00 am service.

We also need a group to return to the church at about 4 pm to load up the cars and head over to the Soup Kitchen in Waltham.

Questions??? Email Brad Lehman at brad.lehman@verizon.net.
Construction on the New Bathrooms began this week!

We are excited to report that construction on the new bathrooms began this Thursday! There will be a new bathroom in the classroom in the hallway on the way to the church, and a second one near the Narthex (in the courtyard you see as you walk down the hallway to the church on your right). We also create a Janitor's closet.

The plan is for all the work to be completed by the fall!

Everyone else is asked to bring a side-dish or dessert to share as well as your beverage of choice! Please be in touch with Cheryl at revcheryl.minor@gmail.com if you would like to host.
