Permission Slips Needed for All-School Field Trip Wednesday
Carver has a very spontaneous field trip planned for THIS Wednesday, Nov. 16 at the American River College, Clean Diesel Program. Students and staff have all been invited to the program's annual Thanksgiving turkey lunch as well as a campus tour.

The plan is to walk the 15-minute distance to the Mather campus and arrive at about 11 a.m., take a tour of the facility and learn about the certification programs. We will then enjoy a Thanksgiving turkey lunch and walk back to campus for 6th period at about 2:15 p.m.  This field trip is an important step for students to learn about college programs and opportunities.

Please download and complete the permission form below and return to school on Monday, Nov. 14. The school will arrange transportation for those students who need a ride. Students who do not participate in the field trip will remain on campus for a study period.

GIVING TUESDAY: What Can You Give?
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

If you haven't already participated in Carver's annual giving drive, please consider doing so on Giving Tuesday.

Every school year the GWC Guild asks families to make a tax-deductible donation to help support specialty programs such as main lesson, drama, gardening, art and music. This funding also provides classroom and site improvements.

Our goal is to have 100% of our families participate, but we realize that families in our community have different financial situations. If the suggested donation amount of $125 per student, per year does not work for you, give what you can.

Annual Giving Drive donation checks need to be made out to GWC Guild and can be dropped off in the school's main office.
Bring the Heat: Enter the Chili Cook-Off!
The GWC Parent Guild is hosting a family-friendly Chili Cook-Off FUNraiser 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9!

Bowls will cost $5/person or $20/family. Drinks and dessert will also be available to purchase, as well as student art and handcrafts by local artisans. Don't miss the class basket raffle!

From the Carver Garden
Clockwise: Processing dried verbena for tea; making apple pear sauce; the flock continues to grow; Tristan caps the line to finish off the new irrigation in the orchard; and gardening students celebrate the end of harvest grilling bacon-wrapped pepper poppers.
