There's one simple message in today's Seasonal offering - we need your help to raise funds for CMT United Kingdom.
I know you are probably bombarded with Christmas asks from the big charities who think we have nothing better to do with our hard-earned cash at this time of the year. I do get that, I really do - but they operate on the "if you don't ask, you don't get" basis, and it works!
So we're asking you....
The main reason that people give to charity - either now, or at any other time of the year - is because they have a personal connection to the cause. Because you're reading this, presumably you have CMT, or you know someone who does.
You know about how difficult it is to stand still at the office party, juggling a walking stick, a glass of wine, and a mince pie. You almost certainly know what it's like to fall over in the middle of a public space, and wonder how on earth you are going to get up (that happened to me in the summer in our local hospital of all places). You know how many pairs of socks you're wearing to keep your feet warm, and know, despite all of them, your feet won't be truly warm until June - if ever!
You know how much you wish you didn't have to watch your children struggling with the same problems, and wishing there was a viable treatment on the horizon.
So it's a simple plea - help us make a difference in the lives to even more people with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in 2017. With your support, we can fund more research, more personal support and advice, more great events and anything else we can come up with to help you live better with your CMT.
There are a few simple ways below to help.
And from all the Staff and Trustees, we hope you have a great Christmas and New Year.
Thank you for reading.
