New Name & Logo
Cru Logo
In 2012 'Cru' will be officially adopted as the new name for the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ in the U.S.  We love the new name and are in complete support of the change. We believe this change only fortifies the heartbeat of the mission in bringing the truth of Jesus Christ to the world!

Why We Love What We Do

"A threefold chord is not quickly broken" ~Eccl.4:12

As with all vocations, we are gaining a growing understanding of the one we are called to.  In particular, every day we spend in our Ministry Partner Development (MPD :: most refer to as 'support raising') we learn more of its three-fold strength.

First, there is a bottom-line, goal-oriented level which is a monthly and special needs dollar amount.  We pray specifically for this to be reached and do the work of meeting with churches, small groups, individuals and families to share our story and ask them to be a part of it.  We have set a date (January 1st) as a challenge; a faith goal for this to happen.  It is important to embrace this work, but the great beauty is that it does not end there.

Second is the level of community; kingdom-building.  As our MPD increases, so does the kingdom.  We walk this journey constantly meeting new people and sharing with them God's work in the world; specifically our calling to a ministry to high school students in Hungary.  God's grace and heart for the world is manifested and His plan of Redemption exalted. Where there once was no connection, a team; community is being formed to fulfill the Great Commission.

Third and tantamount is the Glory of God.  He is the only One who can reach the bottom-line goal and the only One who can bring once strangers into a community-- full, deep and strong.  As we walk ahead in faith and you pray for us and contribute financially, we see His amazing work through ALL OF US.  Together, we reflect His Glory in ways that wouldn't be possible unless He called us to this incredible journey.  This is why we love what we do and are continually humbled by it.

The Hope for Our Tomorrows
Through a little research, I was brought face-to-face with the dark reality of the area of the world we are called to.  Hungary and its former Soviet neighbors nearly fill the top 10 worldwide in this dubious list of distinctions:: divorce, suicide and alcoholism.
 I call this the wake of communism.

The Enemy of Souls has too long held these countries in his dark, sinister grip.  Hopelessness has had the upper hand in society and there is a consciousness of despair.

But we know that we serve a God Who is Greater.  As ours heart are drawn into prayer for our future home we are reminded of a passage in Scripture that we claim for this ministry to Hungary and Central/Eastern Europe::

" if you pour yourself out for the hungry
   and satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
then shall your light rise in the darkness
   and your gloom be as the noonday.
And the LORD will guide you continually
   and satisfy your desire in scorched places
   and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
   like a spring of water,
   whose waters do not fail.
And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt;
   you shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
you shall be called the repairer of the breach,
   the restorer of streets to dwell in."

~ Isaiah 58 : 10-12

Hungary and many of its neighbors have a Christian heritage.  When communism came so did Atheism.  We believe that God can and is redeeming those dark years and reversing 'gloom into noonday' as desolation is producing hunger for hope and therefore, the Gospel. And as long as Jesus' people remain, so does His mission to shine His light to the nations!
He is the only hope for all of our tomorrows!

Smiles in the car!
Our little troopers have been hanging in there very well, I'd say.

* Road trip {most of the way} cross country and back.
* Celebrated four birthdays, especially a fourth and second for two little ones.
* JJ started a pre-school in PA.
*Susie started talking at least a mile a minute!
*Both little ones are asking LOTS of why's, what's, who's and how's questions!

"Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;

" Our goal is that {we} may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that {we} may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that {we} may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ,  in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."
