October Island Newsletter

Good Morning Island people!
Happy fall! This week we are thinking about the upcoming holidays at the Island. On Friday, Serena LoConte is thinking Halloween with her Spook-tacular mini book. This super easy mini-book will be perfect to save your Halloween memories! Then on Saturday, Janet Ang is going to help us get ready for Christmas with her December Daily class. If you haven't tried December Daily, it is so much fun and a great way to document your holiday season!
Speaking of the holidays... Have you seen the new AWESOME Christmas lines at the Island? The Carta Bella, the October Afternoon, the Doodlebug! I'm in Christmas heaven! While Laurie is all over the Halloween, I'm all over the Christmas. Now don't say that it's too early for Christmas... I've been ready for at least 2 months!
Lisa is helping us with our Make & Take this week. What a cute little banner that she has set up for you... and using UTEE too! So cool! Make sure you join her on Friday Night at 5:00 pm. You will not be sorry!
Help us congratulate our own Vivian Keh for being selected to join Paper Haus Magazine's Design Team. If you haven't been in to see her work, you really must. She is uber talented, and we are very lucky to have her. Ask the girls to show you her most recent work. I know you will find them scraplift worthy!
There are a few really cool things coming up in the next few months that you should know about. Our Scrap Pink crop is coming up October 13 & 14th. And if you have ever seen a project displayed in the store that you have wanted to buy... That is the time to do it. Also... Laurie is having a contest, and you don't have to go to the crop to play! Donate a project and get a ticket... See below for details, but you know you need a FREE TICKET TO NATIONAL SCRAPBOOK DAY next year!
The super crafty Debby Schuh is coming to the Island October 26 & 27! She has such great classes... You have signed up, haven't you? And in November, watch for a hosted Holiday Market where you will be able to sell your hand crafted goods on November 4th! Excited? I know I am.
Ok, so LIKE us on Facebook, bookmark our Class Calendar, and well, you know the drill. Wait! What a great time to remind you that if you have created something that you are really proud of, we really want to see it. Bring it in, take a picture, post it on Facebook... Whatever it takes for us to see how creative you are! We really do want to see it!
Don't forget about the card swap, Halloween is the theme this month... Check it out down at the bottom!
Now to what you are here for the calendar...

Travel Journal
It has been said that once you have traveled, the voyage never ends,
but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers of the mind. (Pat Conroy)
A scrapbook of your journey adds even more as you place your photos and memorabilia in a beautiful book like the one we'll be making in this class.
Using some of the coolest new products around,
we'll use the new Heidi Swapp Memory Files in a unique way
to make a lovely book to help remember our "bon voyage" - our good journey!
We'll make little journaling booklets, make our own page protector inserts and fashion a one of a kind album that you'll have ready for your next trip or a trip you've taken.
Even if you're not leaving home, you can still record the journey of your life!
