ITEM: RIP Joe Kubert. One of the true legends in the comic book industry, Joe Kubert, passed away over the weekend. He was 85 years old, but still actively working in comics (inking Before Watchmen: Nite Owl and writing/drawing Joe Kubert Presents, a new 6-issue anthology series starting in October from DC Comics). Kubert starting working in comics in the 1940s and is best known for his work on Hawkman, DC's War Comics and for co-creating Sgt. Rock. He also founded the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art (The Kubert School) in New Jersey. Click here to read more about Joe Kubert's life in comics and the legacy that he leaves behind.
