Distinguished speakers to discuss the Future of the EU, Trans-Atlantic Relations on April 6
Gillian Tett, the U.S. Managing Editor of the Financial Times, and Peter Hall, the Krupp Foundation Professor of European Studies at Harvard University, will provide keynote presentations during "Europe in Crisis: The Future of the EU and Trans-Atlantic Relations" at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on Thursday, April 6. Herd's Social Security policy solution receives AARP funding
La Follette School Professor Pam Herd and three  colleagues received funding from AARP's Innovation Challenge to identify policy solutions for strengthening Social Security. Their proposal would create a new Minimum Benefit Plan (MBP) for low-income retirees that examines sufficiency of retirement income in lieu of calculating years of low earnings. Read more .
Education Analytics PAship a 'great complement' to policy grad program
Since 2015, Research Professor Rob Meyer and the nonprofit organization Education Analytics have supported a project assistant (PA) position for a graduate student attending the La Follette School of Public Affairs. Read more
After a hard-fought battle - including a tie-breaker question - the Elder Belles won the La Follette School Student Association's (LSSA) first Trivia Night, which raised more than $700 for their graduation celebration and other projects. Read more
