New Career Services System
 
Alliant's Career Services department is excited to announce the launch of Career Impact, a brand-new Career Services online system, replacing the old AlliantConnect system. This platform gives our alumni online access to job postings and the ability to post jobs, networking opportunities, career building tools (resume writing, interview skills, etc.), online chats and more! 

Watch your email in the next month for information about how to log into the new system.

CSPP Lecture Series
 
Save the date for our next CSPP Lecture Series presentation: Monday, May 1 from 10 - 11:30am PDT. The focus will be on access and stigma of mental health in Asian Pacific American communities, with presenters Dr. Michi Fu, Dr. Helen Hsu and Myron Quon, Esq.  More information will be forthcoming next month.

New Class Notes Email
Have an update you'd like to share with fellow alumni? Have you been featured recently in the media? We have created a new email address for this purpose: [email protected]  Please keep submissions brief, 65 words or less, and include your graduation year, program and campus in a format, similar to the listings below. Please note that all submissions are subject to review, and may be published in a future newsletter and/or online.

Dr. Lynne Friedman-Gell (CSPP-LA, Clinical PhD '06) shares, "Along with my education at CSPP and postdoctoral training at Wright Institute Los Angeles, I am now a Certified Practitioner of the Neuroaffective Relational Model of Psychology (NARM), which is an integrated style of psychodynamic orientation and somatic mindfulness. It is a specialty area for working with developmental trauma based on the work of Dr. Lawrence Heller and Dr. Aline LaPierre."

Dr. Mimi Hoang (CSPP-LA & SD, Clinical PhD '06) continues her national LGBT leadership and was invited to the White House for the 2nd time to attend the Bisexual Community Policy Briefing in 2015. Dr. Hoang was elected to the Board of Directors at the South Bay LGBT Center in 2015 and was quoted in Cosmopolitan and interviewed on HuffPost on bi mental health topics.
 
Dr. Joe-Joe McManus (CSOE-SD, MAE in Multicultural Education '97) has been named the new Chief Diversity Officer and Associate Vice-President at California State University, San Marcos .

Call for SF Bay Area Mentors
We are looking for alumni who are interested in mentoring future clinicians. You will have the opportunity to function as a coach, role model and support system for the mentee from Bay Area community colleges and high schools. After being matched with a student you will support them in their process of creating a research presentation to showcase at the April 26 Behavioral Health Conference in SF. Commitment is 2 hours a week and sessions can be done via skype. This is a great opportunity to help underserved youth in the area who are interested in a career in behavioral health. National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program
The purpose of the NHSC Loan Repayment Program is to recruit and retain medical, nursing, dental and behavioral/mental health clinicians in eligible communities of need, and you can get up to $50,000 to repay your student loans in exchange for a 2-year commitment to work at an approved NHSC site in a high-need, underserved area. The deadline for applications is April 6, 2017.   Details here
