Babson Announces 2016 Commencement Speakers and Honorees
2016 Commencement Speakers Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus and EY Global Vice Chair of Public Policy Beth Brooke-Marciniak will both be honored during Babson's 2016 Commencement ceremonies on May 14, 2016. "We are pleased to welcome Muhammad Yunus and Beth Brooke-Marciniak as our Commencement speakers and honorary degree recipients," said Babson College President Kerry Healey. "Their message and example of innovation and inclusiveness will serve to inspire our student participants as well as their family members and friends." Read more »
Babson Connect Worldwide in Dubai Was a Spectacular Success!
Babson Connect_ Worldwide in Dubai More than 300 Babson community members gathered March 4-6 in Dubai for the second Babson Connect Worldwide event. Thought leaders in entrepreneurship, regional business executives, government leaders, and Babson faculty led thoughtful discussions and engaging presentations throughout the weekend. It was also announced that Babson Connect Worldwide 2017 will take place in Thailand!

Babson Names Michael D. Johnson Provost
Provost Michael D. Johnson"It is a pleasure to welcome Michael Johnson as the new provost of Babson College," said Babson President Kerry Healey. "Michael is an accomplished academic and administrator who will bring valued leadership to our community." Johnson brings 34 years of classroom and academic leadership experience at Cornell and the University of Michigan. In addition to his role as Babson's provost, Johnson will join the Babson faculty as a tenured professor in the Marketing Division. He will begin serving in his new position in July. Read more »

Babson's Josh MacArthur Honored as an Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year
Josh MacArthur Director of Athletics and Recreation Josh MacArthur was named as one of four recipients of the 2015-16 Division III Under Armour Athletics Director of the Year Award by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of America. MacArthur, one of 28 winners across seven collegiate divisions, is now one of just 64 Division III athletic directors to be honored during the last two decades. Read more »

Babson College's Initiative on Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery: Combating Human Trafficking Through Innovation and Impact
Launched in 2013, the Babson IHTMS Initiative on Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery addresses the role of business and entrepreneurship in the fight against human trafficking, offering programming to train the next generation of business leaders and utilizing Babson's methodologies and global network to help end human trafficking and modern slavery. A 2016 webinar series, Supply Chain Management, Labor Standards, and Human Trafficking, explores some of the most promising anti-trafficking practices emerging from the private sector.  Learn more »
Babson Blended Learning: Test-It-Out
Babson Blended Learning Babson's Graduate School is offering a unique opportunity for those interested in experiencing Babson's Blended Learning MBA firsthand. The Babson Blended Learning: Test-It-Out program is taught in the blended learning format with online learning and collaboration, as well as face-to-face sessions. Students who successfully complete the course and subsequently enter a Babson MBA part-time program will earn 3 advanced standing credits.  Learn more »

Babson's Global Advisory Board (GAB), composed of dedicated alumni and friends of the College, held its annual meeting in Muscat, Oman, February 27-March 4, 2016, in conjunction with Babson Connect: Worldwide 2016, which was recently hosted in Dubai, UAE. Highlights included visits to Sultan Qaboos University to discuss entrepreneurship in higher education, and meetings with local business figures to discuss trade and family enterprise. Read more »

From retired U.S. Army Colonel John R. Power Jr. M'65: Dick Power M'65 has been elected to the board of directors of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), headquartered in Denver, Colo. Power has been a licensed Certified Financial Planner (CFP) since he retired as a colonel from the Army in 1992. His practice is in Walpole, Mass., and he served on the Board of the Mass. chapter of the FPA for several years. He was named Massachusetts Financial Planner of the Year in 2014. Power and his wife, Barbara, are members of the Babson Legacy Society.  See more class notes »

Hockey and Men's and Women's Basketball Compete in Conference Championship Games, Men's Hoops Advances to NCAA Sweet 16
Babson Athletics Babson College Men's and Women's Basketball and Men's Ice Hockey extended their seasons by competing in conference championship games, marking the seventh time Beaver teams have appeared in title contests since the fall. Men's hoops won the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Tournament championship, advancing to their second straight NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. Get updates »
