What's Happening at KHS
Kitsap Great Give was a
TAIL-WAGGING SUCCESS!!!

Our community raised over $1.3 million for local nonprofits through the Kitsap Great Give!

THANKS to YOU KHS raised over $58,000, exceeding our initial event goal of $50,000 and finishing in 1st Place ($1,000 bonus prize!) for most gifts received - from 417 animal-loving friends!

Your generosity and support will directly help fund our Foster and Rescue Me programs. Two complementary, progressive, lifesaving programs to ensure that each pet receives the individualized care and treatment they need.

We are very grateful and very lucky to have YOU as a partner in our mission to save more animals' lives.

Thank you for believing in Kitsap Humane Society!!

Spring Cleaning and Your Pets Safety

Spring is here!

For many people that also means it’s time for spring cleaning! If you have pets, and are feeling the urge to declutter, deep clean, and spruce up your landscaping, it’s important to consider what products can be toxic to animals and how to keep your pets safe during cleaning time.

Adorable Adoptable -   Baxter

Meet Baxter!

Baxter is a handsome black and white pointer mix who is about 5 years old. While he can be a little unsure in new situations, with patience and love Baxter has blossomed into a very fun, sweet dog. He loves to play with tennis balls and go for walks to explore the Pacific Northwest! Baxter is eager to learn and loves treats! He would love a quiet and patient home where he can have time to settle in and get to know you.

 Volunteer Spotlight -   Tiffney

Meet this month’s Volunteer Spotlight – Tiffney!

This month's Volunteer Spotlight is on one of our wonderful foster parents – Tiffney!

Tiffney has been a foster parent since 2014 and in that time has fostered over 100 animals! She has opened her home and heart to kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs and we are so grateful for all she has done!

Tiffney was the foster parent to a puppy named Paris, who was recently transferred to our shelter from one of our partners. Paris was only a few days old and had to be bottle fed. Now she is healthy, happy, and has become a permanent member of Tiffney’s family! Tiffney is currently fostering a special needs cat named Friday who has a birth defect to his spinal cord that makes him unable to walk well on his back legs. Friday is currently available for adoption in foster.

Thank you, Tiffney for all you have done for our shelter pets!

Community Spotlight -  Dee Fitzgerald, State Farm

Our FORE! The Animals Golf Tournament is just around the corner and we are anticipating a great event!

We couldn’t hold events like FORE!, PetsWALK and Animal Krackers without the support of our community partners.

Dee Fitzgerald State Farm Insurance is our fifth annual FORE! The Animals Presenting Sponsor, and we couldn’t be more appreciative of her support!

Based in Port Orchard, Dee Fitzgerald has been a State Farm Agent since 1981. Providing life insurance, auto insurance, homeowners insurance, and renters insurance, Dee Fitzgerald State Farm Insurance is the place to go for all of your insurance needs! Their mission is to help people manage the risks of everyday life, recover from the unexpected and realize their dreams.

Thank you, Dee Fitzgerald, for supporting the work we do here at KHS!

If you haven’t already registered for FORE! do so today! It’s going to be fun!
