Amplify Austin Voices Tomorrow!
Starting this Thursday, March 1st at 6 pm, Austinites will Amplify Austin for 24 hours, opening their hearts and wallets to support nonprofits like Austin Voices.

Last year, over 13,000 students, teachers, parents and community members were part of Austin Voices efforts to support high-quality public schools in every community in Austin.

We're trying to raise $5,000 to support our summer youth leadership programs, and $5,000 more to help our eight campus-based Family Resource Centers provide transportation and emergency housing for the over 3,000 families we serve each year.

Transforming Lives through Adult Academies
This Spring, hundreds of parents are learning to budget, cook healthy, improve their English, become better parents, get their GEDs and more at one of the more than 50 AVEY Adult Academy courses and workshops spread across 8 AISD campuses.  For many, this is the first step on the road to completing their own education and learning to support their child's learning.

AVEY/UT Partner to Support North Austin Schools
Last Saturday, AVEY's Family Resource Center at Dobie MS partnered with UT's Day of Service (The Project) and community partners like Home Depot to bring over 700 volunteers to beautify Dobie MS, Lanier HS and Cook ES. From gardens to painting portables to new benches, the teams blitzed through dozens of projects to transform these campuses. Thank you, UT Students, for 19 years of service!

Community Engagement on the Eastside
Join us at one of our many AVEY-sponsored community events this Spring. From community planning dinners to service projects to huge festivals, schools and community will be working together to build great schools. Highlights include the Eastside STEAM Fest, St. John Unity Walk/Kids Fest at Reagan, and Futb├│l Rapido/Lanier Spring Resource Fair. Check out our website for more details and how you can become a volunteer.

Austin Voices for Education and Youth is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates community collaboration to strengthen families, support kids and improve schools. It has been a busy year, with AVEY working with 21 campuses in Austin, Dallas, El Paso and Houston.
