Greetings!

It's been a year since the Ernestina Forum.  Progress has continued toward the goals expressed during the Forum of seeing Ernestina repaired, sailing again and serving the Commonwealth as she should.  Ernestina has returned to State Pier after $183,000 of work provided by DCR, work on the rig inspection is progressing, and the estimate of the rest of the work the ship requires will be available soon.  Schooner Ernestina Commission Programming Committee and SEMA conducted a successful festival season and the website, updates and Facebook page are reaching new supporters.   SEMA's fundraising and membership drive continues and SEMA will be developing a Capital Campaign when the estimates of expenses and the agreements with the Commission are complete.

It's been an exciting year!  We're looking forward to an even more productive year ahead.

Fair Winds,

Mary Anne

nps logo The New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park has been a wonderful partner to Schooner Ernestina.  Providing support when the ship really needed a friend.  Many thanks to former Superintendent Celeste Bernardo who helped so much in 2005.

New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park warmly invites the public to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the creation of the park in 1996 on Saturday, November 12, when the park will hold a birthday party from 12 noon to 4:00 PM.  Download details.
