Dear Emma Parents,

At Emma Willard School, the health, well-being and safety of our students is of equal importance to ensuring our girls are educated and prepared for the world beyond our campus. Our mission demands no less.

As I have already shared with the Emma Willard School community, incidents of sexual abuse have taken place at our school in the past. We acknowledge the courage of our alumnae who have come forward to report historical incidents. As a result, we have committed not only to addressing and preventing sexual abuse on our campus, but to leading the effort to change the culture and conversation regarding this issue.

We are re-examining and strengthening our policies, procedures and curriculum to foster an environment of open dialogue, respect and safety.

I am proud to share this document with you. It encapsulates the changes we have already made and our commitment to future actions.  It is our promise to keep you updated on our progress throughout the year.

As always, I welcome any questions or feedback you might have. We look forward to welcoming you to campus on October 7th and 8th for Parent Days and hope you will enjoy the exciting and enriching activities we have planned for you.

Best,
