Dear IUSD Community,
Congratulations to the Class of 2018 who graduated from the Inglewood Unified School District on June 6th! The ceremonies for Inglewood, Morningside and City Honors were all lovely, and I am so proud of each and every one of our recent graduates and wish them the best as they embark on the next phase of their lives. The Class of 2018 epitomizes excellence. The skills and values they have learned here in Inglewood will take them far, and we hope they will come back and visit often! They have demonstrated scholarship and maturity beyond their years and have been positive role models for all the underclassmen. And as we begin to look forward to next school year, I fully expect that our next class of graduates will follow in the Class of 2018’s footsteps and continue to make our schools even prouder.
In addition, I want to recognize the dedication, expertise, and commitment of our remarkable teachers and staff here at Inglewood Unified. Every day they strive to provide the best educational services to the students entrusted in our care. Teachers, support staff, and our school board are all committed to making the Inglewood Unified School District the best it can be. This commitment, coupled with the support of families and the community-at-large, help to make our students’ dreams become reality.
Over the summer months I encourage our students to read and write every day, practice math skills, and engage in outdoor physical activity. While the summer is a time to relax and follow individual pursuits, it is also important to remember to keep your mind active and be prepared for the next school year.
This past year at IUSD has been a privilege. The opportunity to work with young minds that comprise the next generation of leaders is a wonderful honor. It has been my pleasure to continue to serve the Inglewood Community as your State Administrator and I am optimistic and excited for the next school year. We have many new projects underway with the opening of the new Woodworth-Monroe K-8 school, and the implementation of the District’s Five-Year Strategic Plan.
I wish everyone a healthy, safe, and relaxing summer vacation. As a reminder, the central and school offices are open year-round, so you can reach out for information on how to enroll for next year at our offices. Enjoy the summer months with your families.
