LAURA NESS, WINE JUDGE & WINE WRITER

Laura Ness, aka "Her VineNess," is an accomplished wine journalist, wine critic and judge who has literally been immersed in the wine industry for nearly three decades.  Her love of Rhones began with a bottle of Syrah she shared with her Dad at her college graduation dinner.

Laura regularly judges wine competitions and serves on the tasting panels of the Pinot and Cabernet Shootouts held by Affairs of the Vine. She believes Syrah has been underappreciated and misunderstood in California, and its time in the sun has yet to come. "Rhones have true soul," she says. "They're the most earthy and grounded of all wines.  I love their unabashed energy and clear sense of identity."
