It's Time for a Change. Period.
SAVE THE DATE - September 18, 2014

Until now, no one has come up with an out-of-the-box solution to address enormous challenges for girls, women, and the environment.
Empowering Women. Period. (EWP), a Village Volunteers Initiative, is launching its crowd funding campaign on Indiegogo to support sustainable social enterprises for women's cooperative in India and Kenya. The women will manufacture and sell biodegradable sanitary pads made from fibers of one of the top ten most invasive weeds in the world, water hyacinth. The cooperatives will provide income to the members, public health information to women and girls, and will support girls when they begin menstruating to prevent them from dropping out of school

This innovation:

... enables education for girls in Asia and Africa.
... reduces an invasive species that clogs waterways.
... employs women through self-owned cooperatives.
... reduces disease, infection, and mortality.
... breaks down social stigmas and empowers women.
