Bookseller Recommendations
|
Deb recommends:
This exquisite story explores the deep and beautiful friendship that develops between two Mumbai women both hurt and hardened by their secrets. The sense of place, the physical and the societal, is strong in this story of redemption and hope. A continuation of the story begun in
The Space Between Us, this story easily stands on its own. You will fall in love with this book!
Kym recommends:
Anthony Horowitz has written a brilliantly fiendish mystery-inside-a-mystery. Masterful, clever, and ruthlessly suspenseful, Magpie Murders is a deviously dark take on vintage English crime fiction in which the reader becomes the detective.
Colleen recommends:
McAnulty has created a beautiful story about learning to embrace your uniqueness. Lucy grapples with starting school after being struck by lighting and experiencing brain damage that gives her genius-level math skills, and some OCD tenancies. With the support of her family, her two quirky friends, and a dog named Pi, Lucy uses her math superpowers to take on the challenges of adolescence and find her niche. It's a powerful book that supports girls thriving in a STEM field which is a much-needed subject in juvenile fiction. I laughed, I cried, and I cheered the whole way through! (Ages 8-12)
