Drew Boyd
How many times have you been told to "Think outside the box"? What if the trick to innovation is really thinking INSIDE the box? Drew Boyd is the co-author of Inside the Box, one of Jeff Kinney's favorite books: "A book that will upend your thoughts about innovation and problem-solving. The writers' approach has had an enormous impact on my life and career, and I employ the strategies in this book to tackle problems large and small. A must for anyone working in a business where innovation is valued." Drew will discuss the concepts in his book, and challenge you to think in new ways in his interactive presentation. Walking to Listen
Walking to Listen
by
Andrew Forsthoefel
More than a story of the physical trials and tribulations of walking across the country (although there's plenty of that too!), this is a deeply felt account of the trials and tribulations of growing up ... the "how do I fit into this world?" kind of exploration. Enjoy a journey across our country through this fascinating young man's eyes as he recounts and ponders the stories and life philosophies from people he meets along the way. A really moving read.

Our Short History
Our Short History
by Lauren Grodstein

Karen, political consultant and mother of a precocious 6-year-old, has stage IV ovarian cancer. Her days are numbered and decisions about her son's future weigh heavily on her mind. Jake insists on meeting his birth father, and when they do meet, Karen worries about their immediate loving bond and how it will affect her relationship with her son. Seven years ago, Dave was adamant he never wanted a child. Now the hard questions: should Jake be raised by his loving aunt or his father? How much input does a 6-year-old have? Can Karen move beyond Dave's rejection seven years ago of their child and her?

See You in the Cosmos
See You in the Cosmos
by Jack Cheng

As unusual a road trip novel as you'll find is this story of 11-year-old Alex Petroski, astronomy lover, who is determined to launch his golden ipod into space just like his hero Carl Sagan did with his Golden Record on the Voyager spacecraft in 1977. Through unlikely means Alex travels with a small collection of fellow rocket enthusiasts from Colorado to Los Angeles and back again with his dog, Carl Sagan, and discovers many truths about life, family, and friends. Reminiscent of Counting By 7s and even The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, Cheng's characters and heartfelt optimism make for an unforgettable read. (Ages 8-12)
