Joseph Robertia and his wife, Cole, will visit all the way from Alaska to discuss Joseph's new book, Life with Forty Dogs: Misadventures with Runts, Rejects, Retirees, and Rescues in an event for dog lovers, husky owners, animal rescuers, fans of Alaska TV shows, and those who follow the Iditarod. At their events, Joseph shares a fascinating slide show; Cole, an Iditarod and Yukon Quest veteran, talks about life with dogs and being a woman in racing. Register now for this free event.

We've long wished to welcome author and illustrator Chris Van Dusen to An Unlikely Story, and we are thrilled to welcome him this summer! Chris will introduce his new picture book, Hattie and Hudson, a charming tale about a little girl and her colossal friend that teaches a monster-size lesson about prejudging others. Startup
Startup by Doree Shafrir
This book introduced me to a world that I was so unfamiliar with: startup tech companies. We follow Mack McAllister, the young founder and CEO of TakeOff, and Katya Pasternack, a writer for TechScene who is in desperate need of a groundbreaking story. With aspects of women struggling to compete in a male-dominated world, and middle-aged workers struggling to adapt to the new and  overpowering millennial culture, Shafrir's debut novel is one that everyone can enjoy and will not be able to put down.

Truly Madly Guilty
Truly Madly Guilty   by Liane Moriarty
Liane Moriarty has a brilliant way of taking the most ordinary of events, in this case a neighbor's barbecue, and twisting them in a completely unexpected direction. You can imagine yourself in the same situation, and she will make you wonder how you would react to the same set of circumstances. Her novels are not only spot-on observations about contemporary women's lives, they're very funny, and page-turningly suspenseful. Save this one for an uninterrupted weekend; you won't be able to put it down!
