Greetings!
Who would have thought that Kentucky would be the center of U.S. politics? Well, it doesn't happen often, but we can enjoy it for the moment.

The #1 issue of the day (as it SHOULD have been in the 2012 presidential race) is ObamaCare. Kentucky's U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell is possibly the lynchpin to getting the Senate to vote to delay the implementation and enforcement of healthcare reform.

The person seen as the face of a new Republican Party (and the top contender for a presidential bid in 2016) is Kentucky's U.S. Senator Rand Paul.

And our own Congressman Thomas Massie has been described by the Wall Street Journal as one of the ringleaders of a group of new House activists who have the ability and willingness "to block not just Democrats but their own party's leader." (You've got to read this great story in WSJ).

The Boone Co. GOP, which is directed by liberterian-minded folks like us, have gotten the attention of national leaders. None other than Judge Napolitano is going to be the guest speaker at the pre-Christmas gala on November 21 at Receptions.

Change is coming for the Republican Party and we in Northern Kentucky have been playing a big role. If you have gotten discouraged, get over it. We may have lost a few battles, but the war is still raging. We don't just have a voice that's being heard at the highest seats of government. We have a megaphone. So pull up your big girl pants and pitch in. Read below for ideas about what you must be doing now.

And when you're out and about, stop by SubStationII for a delicious and nutritious lunch or dinner to keep your strength up! Grassroots Tea Party of Boone Count is Fueled by SubStation II.
Job #1
Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment
overpass sign
The message is short and sweet.
Thanks to Dan Ford for his artistry!

Have you seen info about the nationwide movement that's growing by leaps and bounds? Patriots will be standing on overpasses all over the U.S. on August 6, raising awareness that we have the worst president in history who consistently defies his oath to uphold the constitution.

Grassroots Tea Party members and other patriots are going to be standing on the I-75 overpass on U.S. 18 (exit 181) at rush hours from 7:30 to 9 and again from 4:00 to 5:30.

In addition, the Northern Ky Overpass group has 2 other overpass locations (same hours) you could go to:

  • Highland Ave / 471 overpass, Fort Thomas
  • Kyles Lane / I-75 overpass, Fort Wright

If  you would like to stand at the Kyles Lane/Ft. Wright Overpass please contact Vonda Pickens 859-630-0274

See details on Facebook here and also here. Not on Facebook? Watch this:

So now you see what just a few patriots can do with flags and 3 or 4 word signs. Are you smiling yet?

 Job #2
Urge Senators to Delay ObamaCare

Help us DELAY ObamaCare

Monday evening we heard about a new effort, "Don't Fund ObamaCare." It's a grassroots movement that is modeled after the campaign that successfully derailed the proposed gun rights restrictions earlier this year. Do you remember? We flooded our representatives' offices demanding they leave our 2nd amendment rights alone.

Now we're going to duplicate that effort in order to get the Senate to oppose any Continuing Resolution (CR) that would fund implementation or enforcement of ObamaCare. The CR will be taken up soon after the Senate returns from the August recess, so we must be making calls NOW. Do it often. Get your friends and family to call.

We are calling on the Senators to delay implementing ObamaCare. Read the press release from Tea Party Patriots below for more on the call to delay.

We have printed some cards that can help you spread the word. You can copy and print the wording below, or let us know if you'd like us to get you some cards to pass around.

Press release from Tea Party Patriots

Patriots,

Obamacare Delayed for Big Business, Big Labor, and Big Government but not the American People. The President acknowledged that Obamacare is not ready.  That's why the White House delayed implementing the Obamacare mandate for Big Business.

Obamacare is also not ready for Big Labor.  So the government delayed Obamacare for them, by granting Obamacare waivers to big labor unions.

And those who know Obamacare best - Washington DC politicians - know that Obamacare is not ready for them either.  So they're delaying Obamacare for themselves, and trying to exempt Members of Congress and their staffers from the mandates of Obamacare.

The White House, Big Business, Big Labor and Big Government agree on one thing with the "little people" across America: Obamacare is not ready.

The difference is in how differently we the "little people" are getting treated when it comes to Obamacare.

If Obamacare is not ready for Big Business, Big Labor, or Big Government - then it's not ready for the American people.

Mr. President, Members of Congress and the Senate: treat we the "little people" at least as well as you're treating Big Business, Big Labor and Big Government: yourselves.

Delay Obamacare now - for all Americans.

 Prayer Meeting

Following the example of the Founding Fathers by first seeking Providential guidance, there will be a Prayer Meeting held each week PRIOR to the meeting at 5:30.

The Tea Party is not a religious organization and we welcome people of all faiths or no faith at all.

Vonda Kaye Named Honorary Guardsman in the Kentucky National Guard

Vonda Kaye is an accomplished seamstress who offers free alterations of U. S. Active Duty Military Uniforms through "Yellow Ribbon Custom Apparel". Although her rewards are "the smiles, hugs and firm, lingering hand shakes she receives, The Dept. of Military Affairs has given her another award:  The title of Honorary Guardsman in the Kentucky National Guard.

Vonda is a vital member of our Tea Party who helps lead the pre-meeting prayer group at 5:30.  She will soon have her PATRIOT APPAREL website up and is seeking other like-minded seamstresses who can sew, iron and help with other services that can be presented FREE OF CHARGE to our Military.  Send your name and phone number and what you will provide to   [email protected].

GRTP Members Invade Fancy Farm Picnic 2013

Several of our members traveled to the Fancy Farm picnic this weekend. You'll see a familiar face in this news story. Scott Wartman wrote a good article on the event.

But here are the words of our intrepid reporter Ann Altherr.

My First Foray to Fancy Farm certainly fit the saying, "You just have to see it to believe it".   The crowd of approximately 12,000 people were spread over acres of ground covered with large tents, outbuildings where dinners were served, picnic tables, and vendor stands set in a carnival-like atmosphere of plain old Americana.

Helen Boyle and I were thankful to get what we think may have been the last 2 seats in the Speakers Gazebo, thanks to a kind gentlemen who slid over to make just enough room.

Paul "George Washington" Johnson did what he does best: Stirred up the entire crowd, as you can see in the video. The shouting between dueling camps of McConnell, Grimes and Bevin was as raucous as promised and I loved every minute of it.

Even the 10 hour bus trip seemed to pass quickly with spirited political conversations throughout and Pam Dimmerman's homemade treats, especially the fresh zucchini pineapple muffins in red, white and blue paper.

So next time you get a chance to go to Fancy Farm I recommend you make the trip!
