The new playground name is Jumpin' Jungle!

Thank you for all of your suggestions to Name That Playground! As it turned out "Jumpin' Jungle" was sent in by a family who has been involved with the playground from the start, the Wagers family. Jessica has served on the design committee, attended events, solicited funds and has talked about the playground to everyone who will listen. Donate here.

Community Members Broke Ground for Inclusive Playground

On May 12, children in the community joined leaders in shoveling the first dirt away from the Jumpin' Jungle site. As these children worked together, side by side, we can imagine in the near future the same kiddos playing with each other on the playground. If you want to be involved in the next steps of making play a reality for all kids in the area, join us for Community Build Day on June 5. In case of rain, the build day will be postponed. Sign up here!

PCS Receives Honor of CQL Quality Assurance Accreditation

Progressive Community Services (PCS) is dedicated to building relationships to inspire social change, empower people and challenge the status quo. Because of PCS' personalized support to people and commitment to practices, it was recently recognized and commended by an international accreditation council.

This past spring, PCS was awarded the Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) Quality Assurance Accreditation. Cathy Flicker Terrill, President and CEO of CQL, stated, "CQL commends PCS for its success in increasing the quality of life for the people it supports. We are pleased to partner with them on this journey."

PCS received accreditation for strengths in Basic Assurances, Personal Outcome Measures? and Person-Centered Excellence. Supports and services start with your basic needs and rights, and PCS watches out for the health, safety and security of all clients.

Supports strengthen individuals. They are there to empower, not enable. They are building blocks for individuals to climb at their pace, keep achieving and reach their highest potential and fulfillment. Through individualized plans, PCS offers supports and services to assist individuals in their independence.

For more than 40 years CQL has been a leader in raising the bar for human service organizations and systems to continuously define, measure and improve the quality of life of all people. Organizations that are awarded accreditation by CQL meet a stringent set of criteria and demonstrate an on-going commitment to person-centered excellence. We, at PCS, are proud to earn this prestigious accreditation and ensure that we will keep enhancing our systems of supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

PCS knows that life should be about living. Striving, achieving and continually growing help you live with hope and anticipation of what dreams may come. Don't let any roadblocks stand in your way of living. We can help you break through barriers so you can take control and keep moving towards your goals and dreams.

With your help, Buchanan County will be home to an universally accessible playground that will allow children from all backgrounds to play safety and comfortably. We want to promote wellness and understanding in our region to create an impact in the community towards inclusion. To donate to this mission, visit  https://www.unlimitedplay.org/donate/.
