Registration Open for Inaugural Club Champions Cup!

Registration is open for the Club Champions Cup presented by Massage Envy!  The team event features four players from your club and a $10,000 purse for PGA Professionals.  Teams are guaranteed a spot in their local qualifier if they register before May 2, 2017; after that open registration will be available until the May 19, 2017 deadline.

Andonian Shoots 66 to Win CommonGround Stroke Play
 
Valley Country Club PGA Professional Sherry Andonian notched her first win of the year at CommonGround Golf Course on Monday, April 24, 2017.  Andonian, who was recently honored as the West Chapter Regular and Senior Player of the Year, fired an impressive five-under-par 66 to post a one shot victory.
Register Today for the National Car Rental Assistant Professional Championship!

Registration is now open for the National Car Rental Colorado Assistant Professional Championship set for July 31-Aug. 1 at Highlands Ranch Golf Club.   
The event is open to Class A-8 Members and all Apprentices must be eligibly employed and in good standing at the time of entry and their Section's entry deadline date.

Registration Deadline Approaching for CoBank Colorado Senior Open

The registration deadline for the upcoming CoBank Colorado Senior Open is fast approaching.  The event, slated for May 31 - June 2, 2017 at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club, will close registration on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 5:00pm.

Perry Goes West to Win Bookcliff CC Pro Am

Nick Perry, PGA Assistant Professional at Omni-Interlocken Resort posted a two-under-par 69 to win the Bookcliff Country Club Pro Am on Friday, April 21, 2017.  Finishing in second place was Jim Cook, PGA Assistant Professional at Aspen Glen Club who posted a two-over 73.

Tim Tafoya, PGA Head Professional at Bookcliff CC led his team to victory by posting a stellar score of twenty-under 122.
Pay Your West Chapter Dues Today!

Members of the West Chapter are now able to pay their $75 West Chapter dues online.  These dues go to supporting education opportunities in the Chapter and expanding networking events.

JGAC Gears Up for Second Weekend of Spring Tournaments

The Junior Golf Alliance of Colorado will head south this weekend for their second weekend of Spring tournaments.  A JGAC Tour Event will be held at Walking Stick GC and a Spring Series event will be held at Elmwood GC.

The Colorado PGA is now accepting program requests for the fall semester. PGA Professionals and Educators are welcome to submit a program request form. The fall program request window will open on April 1st and close on April 30th, 2017.

Immediate Rules Change Limits Video Review

The USGA and The R&A have issued a new Decision on the Rules of Golf to limit the use of video evidence in the game, effective immediately.  

New Decision 34-3/10 implements two standards for Rules committees to limit the use of video: 1) when video reveals evidence that could not reasonably be seen with the "naked eye," and 2) when players use their "reasonable judgment" to determine a specific location when applying the Rules.

The NGF's Annual Golf Participation Report Uncovers Favorable Trends for the Game's Future

The number of golfers in 2016 dropped, a familiar no-growth refrain in the National Golf Foundation's annual report on golf participation. Bad news? Not really, says the NGF. A deeper, broader view of the reported numbers actually says the game might be experiencing a renewed vigor, including some record-breaking indicators.
