Twenty years ago today, on Holy Cross Day, Grace Church embarked on a new ministry. It was my first day as your rector and we started developing our relationships so that we could better fulfill the will of God at Grace Church. Today, those relationships are strong and we continue to listen to God so that we may do God's work in Salem and beyond.
I have fallen more deeply in love with God while here because of you. I have felt God's love more deeply because of you. This defines grace. Our ancestors chose the name of our parish well.
This Sunday morning, we will celebrate the blessings we have experienced together during the 10:30 am service. We will ask for forgiveness for the times we did not do our best to fulfill God's will, especially when that involved pain for another. We will recommit to our baptismal vows. And, we will gather around the Lord's table to break bread together with him in love.
My heart overflows with gratitude for the years spent with this parish. May God grant us many a year to love and serve our Lord.
- Debbie

The Sunday's readings remind us of God's gracious mercy and of our response to forgive.
At 10:30 am, we welcome Eileen Hunt as our organist and choir director, and our Parish Choir returns to sing Harold Friedell's "Draw Us in the Spirit's Tether." During the service, we will hear Eric Wagner and Deb Papps give an epistle to the parish about the Garden of Life, we will renew our baptismal vows, Debbie will renew her commitment to the parish and we will have a litany of thanksgiving for the church. Coffee hour will follow as we celebrate our 20 years of mutual ministry with Debbie as our Rector.
At 5:00 pm, Celtic Evensong with Communion will begin a new series of services with prayers and music focused on Creation. This week's reflection will be given by Joanne Moar. All are welcome to come to this quiet and reflective time with God and one another.
Please join us wherever you are in your search for meaning.
