Born in June 2010 through the merger of the World Alliance of Reformed Churches (WARC) and the Reformed Ecumenical Council (REC), the WCRC is a landmark effort to unite Christians for common witness and service to the world.  WCRC has its roots in the 16th century Reformation led by John Calvin, John Knox, Ulrich Zwingli and the earlier reforming movements of Jan Hus and Peter Valdes. Today most member churches are in the Global South and many are called to witness as religious minorities in their countries. WCRC has its secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.

The mission of ECO: A Covenant Order of Evangelical Presbyterians is to build flourishing churches that make disciples of Jesus Christ. The name ECO reinforces our passion for strengthening the ecosystems of local churches to help them grow and multiply. Our full name represents our commitments to connect leaders through grace-based relationships (Covenant), unite around standards of life and ministry (Order), for the ultimate purpose of making disciples of Jesus Christ (Evangelical).
