How do we design courses that address issues of diversity and inclusion at a fundamental level? How can we make sure that our classes effectively address students from a diversity of backgrounds and with a range of learning strategies? Join
Dr. Peter Martin
, Chair of Ithaca College's Department of Education, for a workshop on course and syllabus design.
Workshop attendees are encouraged to bring their syllabi-in-progress to learn how to incorporate inclusive teaching techniques into their own courses. By participating in this workshop, participants will learn the principles of Universal Design and other inclusive course design techniques; practice building inclusivity into their course designs and syllabi; and participate in a community of individuals similarly committed to inclusivity and diversity in teaching.
This workshop is aimed at graduate students and postdocs in the humanities and social sciences who are interested in effective teaching. However, all are welcome to attend. RSVP
