Create Your Own Rock Art
Saturday, August 23, 2014
10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Pictographs are images painted on rock by Native Peoples. These figures and symbols likely told a story or represented the world around them. Children will hear about the local Chumash and their traditional ways and have the opportunity to create their own pictograph using colors used in the past by the Chumash. Stones, paint and paint brushes will be provided. Please bring a flat stone to paint on if you have one available.
