No school? No problem! This summer you can fill your days getting creative with a variety of fun and educational Art Camps and Workshops! We have an array of programs for every age, skill level, and interest. Check out the schedule below and be sure to sign up before they fill up!  Call 630-551-4321 to enroll. ART CAMPS

Clay Building Camp

Explore the various hand building techniques with clay. In this class participants will learn various clay building techniques as they create one of a kind ceramic pieces in this week long class.    $70
 
Fashion Design I

June 18 - June 22 (9:30 - 10:30 AM) 
July 9 - July 13 (9:00 - 10:00 AM)
 
Aspiring designers will learn the beginning stages of design in this introductory camp. Students will design their own 4 - 8 piece fashion line while learning how to develop inspiration, draw a proportionate human figure, and create an original textile sample. The week concludes with a presentation of each designer's line for their family and friends. This camp may be repeated; all activities allow for brand-new creations and continued practice of core design skills.   $70
 
Fashion Design II

Take your fashion designing dreams one step further and continue to refine your design process. Translate your point of view into your own brand, logo, and slogan; practice advanced textile sample techniques; create your own wearable accessory, and design a signature look(s) that represent(s) your brand. The week concludes with a presentation of each designer's line for their family and friends. This camp may be repeated; all activities allow for brand-new creations and continued practice of core design skills.   $70
 
Fantasy Costume Design

Learn about the elements of costume design and construction while creating a
Fantasy character inspired by film, theater, anime, or your own imagination. Students will create a character and design a wardrobe in a take home notebook.   $70
 
Drawing with Light and Shadow Camp

June 4 - 8 (9:30 - 10:30 AM)
 
If you liked the workshop... you'll love the camp! Learn about creating volume and shape in drawing by studying the theory of light and shadow. Students will learn about the importance of values and render objects and fabrics balancing a variety of different shadows and highlights. Students will learn how to render a basic still life applying these tools. This camp can be repeated to enhance basic drawing skills.    $65

Graphic Novel/Comic Book Camp

Spend a week learning the art of visual storytelling with by learning how to create a graphic novel. Learn how to create characters, setting, and a plot line in a visual format. Students will be given a story or have their own idea of one that they wish to illustrate. Each student will build upon it daily until they have created a small graphic novel of their own. This camp can be repeated to enhance graphic novel skills and create additional books.   $65
 
Animal Drawing Camp

Have a love for animals? Can't get enough of the zoo? Learn the basics of animal anatomy, structure and movement to accurately draw wild animals. This camp will concentrate on a different mammal species each day, including canine, feline, equine, and pachyderm. We will explore different animals using action analysis while studying form and simplified anatomy to better understand these wonderful creatures that share our planet. Students will create pieces with dry medium of animals in a simplified setting. This camp can be repeated to enhance and build animal drawing skills.  $65
 
Figure Drawing

Similar to the workshop, this camp students will study the human form* and learn the fundamentals of figure drawing. They will learn techniques for drawing the figure including correct proportion, body landmarks, and capturing the human figure on paper. End of the camp will focus on details like hands and feet, and other difficult features. Students will leave with an understanding of the human form as a foundation of classical drawing. Can be repeated to improve figure drawing skills. (*In lieu of live models students will study using photographic references.) $65
 
Manga Mania Camp

Are you a Manga Maniac? Learn the popular graphic novel technique of   Manga Character & Creature Design in this week long exploration of this traditional form of Asian comics. Students will start with a basic concept and using character analysis combined with visual design elements they will create a series of complex visual characters in a Manga style.  We will explore creating different characters throughout the week to create a Manga world that the students can use to create a final illustration/short comic. $65
 
Stop Motion Movie Maker Camp

July 30 - Aug 3 (1:30 - 2:30 PM)
 
Calling all future film makers! This camp will give students a range of skills and knowledge to make their own stop motion movies. They will design sets, claymation characters, plot development, stop motion techniques and more! They will also learn how to use a green screen for their movie! Film premiere to family and friends at the end of this camp. Students must have a smart device, like a tablet or phone and download the Stop Motion Plus app. $65

WORKSHOPS

Pet Pastel Portraits

Create a one of a kind portrait of your beloved pet. In this class participants will be creating a realistic portrait of their pet using various pastel drawing and coloring techniques. Students will use both chalk and oil pastels in this class.    $28
 
Summer Watercolor and Pastel Workshop

Explore the wonderful combination of watercolors and pastels in this summer theme workshop. Participants will be creating colorful summer theme artworks while exploring the various ways to combine pastels and watercolors in their art making process.  $28
